Thanks Heidi! I’m glad that you enjoyed my attempt at injecting a little humor in the piece. I felt happy and fulfilled writing this piece, where I tested my creativity and pushed beyond my comfort zone in terms of writing style.

Looking back, a part of me wanted to emulate the story-telling style of the interview story that I had written a few months back — probably to try and capture the essence of the unprecedented success I had with that story.

I definitely want to try writing more stories that push my creative boundaries. They come in spontaneity so I can’t really plan them, but when I get to write them I have a lot of fun crafting the story.

I’ve noticed that I have been reading more fiction and absorbing different styles of writing from different authors, which helps me in ways I can’t explain. Having different voices, philosophies and styles to strengthen your repertoire and draw inspiration from certainly doesn’t hurt when I’m in a creative rut.

It’s an interesting thought to try to unpack and maybe I’ll do a piece on it one day :)

Sorry for rambling haha — thanks again for the continuous support Heidi! Your comments make my day and push me to write more and improve everyday.
