Hi Jesse,

Thanks for reading. I don’t know much about kangaroo courts but when I hear those words I imagine the scene from Dark Knight where a faux trial is held where defendants are given a choice to choose death or exile — an illusion of choice that ends in the worst possible outcome. They are presumably guilty from the start and there is no way to change anyone’s mind.

I just find it ridiculous how one person’s allegation against another person can hold so much weight simply because of their identity. We must treat all people as individuals and judge them accordingly. Identity, or the inherent traits that you have no control over (gender,race) should not give you a bonus point or more credibility over the other. Let’s just look at the facts and treat everyone the same based on the evidence. Why has that concept become so foreign to us?
