Hey Thanos,

Thanks for reading and sharing your perspective. I agree — self-trust can be effective and life-changing for people who have done their due diligence in self-discovery. Maybe it is naive to just say that people should just trust themselves as they currently are, since I do agree that many people are unable or unwilling to really dig deep and find out who they really are. (Not that we are any more important than others just because we were willing to try a bit more.)

I guess it all starts with telling the truth to yourself and to others. I believe all people have a voice inside them (the conscience/higher self) that tells them when they tell lies to themselves.

When they procrastinate, when they make excuses and lie to themselves in order to escape responsibility or indulge in instant gratification, when they turn a blind eye to the evil deeds of themselves, their friends, and their family members, when they repress their deepest desires and passions in order to live the life that “they chose”, they all feel the same thing. A small voice that constantly questions their rationality, a feeling that surges through the body and is unwilling to accept the mind’s reasons as objective truth.

We must acknowledge and listen to the small voice. We must watch when we are engaged in an activity that we find meaningful or interesting. We must trust the small voice and listen closely for the moments where we tell lies to ourselves. We must trust the small voice when it beckons you to move forward toward your fears and acknowledge the things you least want to admit about yourself. We must trust that the steps we take will pay off in the end, and that everything you do is an experience in life that will serve you in one way or another in the long run.

So yes, I think you are right that if we do not try to learn about who we truly are as individuals, we are basically trusting a stranger. I also realized I just rambled and my thoughts were a bit unstructured but I just said what came to mind LOL thanks again for taking the time to read and provide some thoughts for me to reflect on Thanos.
