Haha it’s quite hard to use sarcasm online… I would have loved to see it executed in person (I love sarcasm too, but I would not have interpreted that line as sarcastic if you hadn’t kindly put the disclaimer) :)
Great point! To this day I still fall into this trap on certain days…
However, I do find comfort in the fact that I am not alone in the experience of binge watching and reading motivational videos and articles/books. We take the first step to figure out what the problem is and it feels good to find the solution, but I think it’s the fact that we can’t accept just one or two answers. We have to scour for more information until we know every possible solution, which leaves us exhausted and overwhelmed. We are told by different people to do different things, and since we don’t know who to trust online and don’t know if the things we will commit to will be a waste of time, we end up not doing anything at all.
Then, to escape the feeling of shame that follows when we are berated by our inner voices that even though we know what we have to do, we still won’t do it, we will turn to anything that distracts us from that emotion, which would be more motivational content.
Quite a vicious cycle, and easy to fall into! But yes, you’re right — hard work and focus always have produced results for me :)
