Great article Antonio! I've always had my eyes on this book but never found an opportunity to pick it up. I think lessons 4, 5, and 7 were great reminders for me to be humble, grateful, and focused.
Often when I am aiming toward something in life, I have the habit of not allowing myself to be happy during the process because I make the destination my goal. I realize that while this helps me get focused on my personal goals, I neglect the people around me and get quite selfish. I only care about my journey and forget that everyone else around me have their own journeys that they are on. I have to remind myself that the destination will mean nothing if I had to sacrifice everything to get it.
But what's funny is that as we start focusing more on the people around us, we can also start to lose ourselves and not remember who we are as individuals and what we want. We can end up spreading ourselves too thin and neglecting our own desires and goals. This back and forth is quite ironic but the answer is always found in the middle - we need to continuously balance how much we care about our individual goals and how much we care about the goals of our loved ones.
Thanks for writing this! Looking forward to reading more of your stories
