Good to see you back on the platform Jackson! I like the shift in perspective that you invite us to explore. You guided us from “what’s the point?” to “maybe if I think about it this way, there is a point”.

To be honest, I can see that the first mode of thinking calls on creators to shoulder responsibility, which is understandably the path less traveled since it is the harder mindset to live with.

We can use writing on the Internet as an example. Instead of blaming the platform and the readers for their inability to understand the writers, the writers can work to improve the way they communicate and articulate their ideas. In that sense, the writer puts the burden of responsibility on him/herself rather than on external factors.

To be fair, it may also be the case that maybe the structure of the platform is truly making it much harder for the writer’s content to be shown. But I think it is easier to talk about how the odds are stacked against you rather than showing up and doing the best in whatever you can control in the present. I’ve certainly victimized myself many times in order to indulge in my laziness. But I’d like to pick myself back up, dust myself off, and try to bear the responsibility of creativity on my shoulders. Maybe that process will give me more meaning in this world.

You always had very thought-provoking pieces Jackson. I hope you decide to share more in the near future! Always happy to hear from you man. Have a great rest of your day.
